The Late Victorian
Child's Room 1875-1900

This room was set up to represent a child's room. The oak furniture is factory mass produced and was readily available from Sears and Montgomery Ward catalogs. This is the beginning of the brass bed era and this small bed probably came from a Montgomery Ward catalog.

The "Friendship" quilt on the bed was made and signed by friends, neighbors, and relatives of the Parrys in 1884.

The miniature doll furniture was a saleman's sample of what full sized furniture would look like. These miniatures were used before catalogs were widely available.

Note the metal wheels on the red tricycle. Rubber was not yet discovered.

The Randolph and Parry family crests hang on the wall, reflecting the lineage of the five generations that lived in the Parry Mansion.
